Richland One Schools to Compete in Robotics Competition
Imagine this - cheering fans on the edges of their seats, teams pushing their skills to the limit and fast-paced action in the center court performed by - robots. Well, it’s not your imagination. You’ve just entered the high-stakes, competitive action of the FIRST Robotics Competition.
Robots built by students from two Richland One high schools will compete in the second annual FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics competition March 30 -31 at the Colonial Center. Keenan’s RoboRaiders and Columbia High’s Capital Robotics teams will pit their skills against 43 teams from eight states. Last year Keenan’s RoboRaiders won the FIRST competition.
Richland One invites everyone to come out and cheer on our teams. The event is free and open to the public. For those fans who can’t make it to the Colonial Center, you can catch all of the action as a "virtual" viewer. The all-day competition will be broadcast live on ETV satellite channel 311.
