E. E. Taylor Elementary recently kicked off its
partnership with the Palmetto Health Alliance, becoming
the tenth High Performance Partnership in Richland One.
Funded through the S.C. Commission on Higher
Education, and administered by the S.C. Chamber of
Commerce, High Performance Partnerships is a program
charged with improving academic achievement in South
Carolina. This is accomplished by partnering schools
that face any number of challenges with businesses that
have resources to share. These partnerships are not
strictly based on financial considerations.
High Performance Partnerships is not a structured
program with firm mandates and directives. Each program
is unique to the participating school and business,
providing unlimited flexibility to create and implement
an individualized plan for improvement. It is a vehicle
for facilitating collaboration between school
administrators and teachers and members of the state’s
business community and for gleaning new innovative
strategies and skills that businesses might apply to a
classroom and students.
