Forty-five Richland One Teachers Achieve National Board Certification
Forty-five Richland One teachers are among the 755 new National Board-certified teachers in South Carolina, bringing the district’s total to 266 to date.
National Board certification is awarded through the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards. It is the highest credential available in the teaching profession. Teachers go through a rigorous two-part process that takes one to three years to complete. This process includes completing assessment center exercises based on content knowledge to prove that they have mastered the subjects they teach and that they know how to teach them.
The names of the newly certified teachers were released December 9 by the State Department of Education. Richland One congratulates its newest National Board-certified teachers. The teachers and their schools are as follows:
