RICHLAND ONE BOARD EXTENDS SUPERINTENDENT’S CONTRACT
The Richland One Board of School Commissioners has extended Superintendent Dr. Percy Mack’s contract for two years to run through June 30, 2013.
Mack, a Savannah native and former superintendent of the Dayton (Ohio) Public Schools, began his duties in Richland One on July 1, 2008.
Chairman Vince Ford said the Board’s decision to extend Mack’s contract came after a careful evaluation of his performance and represents "a strong vote of confidence for his skills and his leadership of the district."
"We were very impressed with the progress that’s been made under Dr. Mack’s leadership," Ford said.
The seven-member Board voted unanimously October 13 in favor of the two-year contract extension and providing Mack with an annual annuity of 3.5% of his current salary. The amended contract was finalized Tuesday.
