Richland One to Hold Rededication Ceremony for Sanders Middle School

Richland One will hold a rededication ceremony for the newly renovated W.G. Sanders Middle School on Sunday, November 1 at 4 p.m. in the school’s theatre. Alumni, former staff and the community are invited to attend.

In addition to school tours, student performances and a ribbon-cutting ceremony, attendees will enjoy an afternoon program that includes remarks by Stoney M. Richburg, who was the school’s first principal, and Collie E. Rayford, who has been a PE teacher at Sanders for 46 years.

The former W.J. Keenan High School site at 3455 Pine Belt Road was renovated to house Sanders students and staff, who moved into the facilities in August. The Richland One Evening High School is also located on the Sanders campus. The renovation project was part of the district’s Schools for the 21st Century bond construction program.
