Richland One to Sponsor 5-K Run/Fitness Walk

It’s time to grab your running shoes and get ready for the second annual Richland One 5K Run/Fitness Walk on Monday, October 19 at 4-6:15 p.m. at Memorial Stadium Athletics Complex track, 100 Airport Boulevard.  Everyone in the community is invited to join Richland One students, staff and supporters in this fun event to promote healthy living. 

The registration fees are a bargain:  $5 for district employees and $10 for others. The Kids’ Fun Race is free for children in kindergarten through the eighth grade. Registration fees can be paid on the day of the race, but participants must register by October 16 by faxing the registration form to Coach Danny Brooks at 253-7017.   Registration forms may be downloaded from the district’s Web site at www.richlandone.org.   The registration form also may be completed on-line and e-mailed to dbrooks@richlandone.org.  Awards will be presented to the top three runners in various age categories ranging from kindergarten to age 70+. 

The 5K event schedule is as follows:    

Packet pick-up/registration	4:00 p.m.
High School Championships	4:30 p.m.
Kid’s Fun Run (800-1500 meters)	5:00 p.m.
5K Run/Fitness Walk (3.1 miles)	5:15 p.m.
Awards	6:15 p.m.
