Columbia High School to Host State Band Competition

The action on the gridiron at Memorial Stadium this Saturday, September 19 will be hot and intense, but it’s not about football. It’s all about great music and the high-stepping performances of 15 bands from across the state as they compete in the Columbia High School Band of Gold Capital City Classic.

This annual band competition goes from noon to 7:30 p.m. at Richland One’s Memorial Stadium, 100 Airport Boulevard. The Classic includes special exhibition performances by the Columbia High School Band of Gold and the Benedict College Band of Distinction.

Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children 6-18 years old and free to children five and under. For additional information, please contact Columbia High School at 731-8970.
