NASA Aerospace Specialist Visits Forest Heights Elementary School

NASA aerospace specialist Dynae Fullwood (center, standing) visited Forest Heights Elementary School August 4-5 to share the latest techniques teachers can use to make science, math and technology more interesting and challenging for their students. Fullwood’s presentations included a live link to NASA’s Langley Space Research Center in Virginia and hands-on workshops with fifth-graders.

Brennen Elementary Guidance Counselor Visits the Sudan

This summer Brennen Elementary guidance counselor Diane Ryan visited the Sudan in Africa where she volunteered to work with elementary and high school students and shared effective teaching strategies with staff. Pictured are Ryan (far right back corner) along with Sudanese students in a fifth-grade boys math classroom which was meeting outside because of a power outage.
