Richland One Students Give Back, Thank the Community
As the 2007-08 school year came to a close, many Richland One students focused on helping others and thanking their parents and supporters.
Crayton Middle School Donates to Columbia Animal Shelter
Crayton Middle School’s National Junior Honor Society donated more than 300 pet supplies to the Columbia Animal Shelter. Pet food, cat and dog treats, cleaning supplies and animal toys were collected by students who were motivated to get involved by school guidance counselor Laura Lee Shaleuly and her dog, Sumu.

Logan Elementary Makes Donation to Oliver Gospel Mission
Logan Elementary students donated $206 to the Oliver Gospel Mission. Throughout the school year, students washed cars, made crafts, sold lemonade and even donated their allowances to raise money for the shelter. Their generosity was spurred by research on the Oliver Gospel Mission and its service to the poor and homeless in our community. Logan students have already started making plans to raise money for the Oliver Gospel Mission during the next school year.

Parent-Child Home Program Hosts Celebration
More than 80 families enjoyed a great meal together during the second annual family celebration hosted by Richland One’s Parent-Child-Home Program. The program teaches parents how to improve their children’s reading and verbal skills.
