Richland One Marketing Materials Receive National Recognition

Marketing materials produced by Richland One’s Office of Communications have received national recognition for excellence in school public relations.

The National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) announced that the Richland One: Discover the Urban Advantage CD-ROM has received an Award of Excellence through the organization’s 2008 awards competition. The district’s promotional brochure received an honorable mention.

The interactive CD features a wealth of information about Richland One schools, academic and extracurricular programs, employee salaries and benefits, as well as a promotional video about the district and links to district, school and community Web sites. The brochure also highlights the many advantages of going to school, working and living in Richland One.

Web administrator Mitch Wyatt designed the CD, and the brochure was designed by Tommy Flowers, project design specialist with Richland One Printing Services. Edith Caudle, public information manager in the Office of Communications, was the lead writer on both projects.

The CD and the brochure also received honors in April from the South Carolina NSPRA chapter through its Rewards for Excellence program.

National award winners will be honored at the 2008 NSPRA Seminar, which will be held in July in Washington, D.C. Caudle will represent the team at the conference.
