Richland One 2005 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Gala

The Partners In Education Foundation presented the second annual Richland One Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony Gala on Saturday, November 5, 2005 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. The Hall of Fame honors distinguished Richland One graduates and other persons who have made significant contributions to the district, their communities, their professions and society as a whole. The four 2005 inductees were: attorney and businessman I.S. Leevy Johnson; retired educator Celia Phelps Martin; the late Lt. Col. George D. "Marty" Martin III; and Chief Justice Jean Toal of the S.C. Supreme Court.

Henri Etta Baskins of BellSouth is chairman of the Partners In Education Foundation Board of Directors. BellSouth was the gala's title partner.
 
Several items were up for grabs during the silent auction prior to the program, including signed sports memorabilia donated by Jermaine O'Neal and other Richland One graduates who are professional athletes.

A group of talented Richland One employees captivated the crowd with a special musical tribute to the 2005 Hall of Fame inductees, featuring songs from the years they graduated from high school. Twila Jones Goodwine caps off the evening with her performance of disco diva Gloria Gaynor's hit "I Will Survive" (1979).
